Because it functions on creatures of any Hit Dice, you can use it to give yourself a chance to regroup when facing a single, difficult enemy. Slumber also has applications outside of combat (like knocking out a lone guard so your rogue can safely sneak by).

WebbIn general, if your GM allows for retraining, take slumber as your hex at level 2, and then fortune and chant at level 4 and maybe with the extra hex feat, which you can retrain at level 8 when you get the next hex class feature. Retrain your slumber into scar when you have chant and fortune, and use those.
